Support for SMEs

To subsidise eligible elderly and rehabilitation service units to procure, rent and trial use technology products, so as to improve the quality of life of service users as well as reduce the burden and pressure of care staff and carers.

The Government has earmarked $1 billion for setting up the Innovation and Technology Fund for Application in Elderly and Rehabilitation Care in December 2018 to subsidise eligible elderly and rehabilitation service units to procure, rent and trial use technology products, so as to improve the quality of life of service users as well as reduce the burden and pressure of care staff and carers.

All service units from NGOs and private organisations receiving subsidies from Social Welfare Department and providing residential care services for elderly and persons with disabilities, community care and support services for the elderly or day rehabilitation and community support services for persons with disabilities. The application for procurement and rental of technology products has been extended to all non-subsidised private and self-financing residential care homes for the elderly and persons with disabilities from the Eighth Tranche launched in September 2022 onwards

Application should be submitted with：

1. Two hard copies including: the original copy of the completed and signed application form, quotation, product catalog and other required documents; and
2. One soft copy including: completed application form (saved in MS WORD 03 or above for Windows format), quotation, product catalog and other required documents.

Applications with all required documents should be submitted to Secretariat to Innovation and Technology Fund for Application in Elderly and Rehabilitation Care, Rehabilitation and Medical Social Services Branch, Social Welfare Department
