Support for SMEs

To support non-research and development (R&D) projects that contribute to the upgrading and development of our industries, the fostering of an innovation and technology culture in Hong Kong as well as promoting popular science.

Fundng Scope

• Support Non-R&D projects.
• Projects may include conferences, exhibitions, seminars, workshops, promotional events, studies and surveys, youth activities, and events or projects to support platform building/upgrading of industry.
• Projects for promotion of products/services of a specific commercial entity will generally not be supported.

Funding Amount

All projects normally require sponsorship of no less than 10% of the total project cost. 

Applicant must be an organisation in Hong Kong (e.g. non-profit making trade/industry associations, public bodies, charitable organisations, local universities and local companies).

• General Support Programme is open for application all year round.
• Applications must be submitted to the Innovation and Technology Fund Secretariat (GSP Section) either -
  (1) electronically through the Innovation and Technology Commission Funding Administrative System II; or
  (2) in hard copy in triplicate (one original plus two duplicate copies) and a soft copy (preferably in Microsoft Word 2010 or above) in person or by post (Address: ITF Secretariat (GSP Section), Innovation and Technology Commission, 10/F, Rykadan Capital Tower, 135 Hoi Bun Road, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong).
